Mechanical 7-segment display with servos and ESP32

This unique mechanical 7-segment display brings movement into the world of digital digits. Instead of illuminated LEDs, the segments consist of moving 3D-printed elements that are controlled by micro-servomotors. Each segment becomes visible when activated and retracts when deactivated - ideal for creative maker projects, interactive installations or as an eye-catcher in technical areas.

Included components

• 7× micro servo motors (e.g. SG90)
• 1× PCA9685 servo driver (16-channel PWM)
• 1× ESP32 microcontroller
• Set of 3x 40 pcs. Jumper wire m2m/f2m/f2f

Additional components required

• External 5 V power source for the servos
• Various cables, plug connections and possibly a carrier plate or a 3D frame
• 3D-printed segments made from PLA or PETG
• Optional: colored segment covers ("shoes")
